Rhythmic Release

A  bodywork technique with profound benefits, my Rhythmic Release technique provides relief for anxiety and stress. The rhythmic movement helps turn off the sympathetic nervous system, allowing the parasympathetic nervous system to initiate healing and recovery.

The sympathetic nervous system governs the “fight or flight” response. This system is overworked in many people due to daily life stress. In survivors of trauma, it is even more so. This is the system that prepares the body for an emergency situation, increasing heart rate and blood pressure, increasing respiration rate and sharpening the senses. When activated for too long a time, the sympathetic nervous system drains the body of energy and depresses the immune system.

The parasympathetic nervous system governs the body's resting, calming and healing response. It is active when we are sleeping or in meditation, slowing heart rate and respiration rate, and decreasing blood pressure. This is the time when the body can heal and recover from the day's activities.

Rhythmic Release is a bodywork technique using rhythm and stretching to initiate the healing response of the body. It is as basic and instinctual as rocking a crying child to soothe and comfort. Rhythmic Release is done with the client fully dressed in comfortable clothing, making it accessible to trauma survivors who might not be ready for more intimate forms of bodywork. It is an effective form of healing bodywork for anyone with hypervigilence, anxiety, or overwhelming life stress.

Rhythmic Release sessions are one hour in length. Try it today! Your body will thank you.
